Hotel
The hotel won Skien municipality’s Accessibility Award in both 2018 and 2020
The hotel offers 32 rooms that meet stringent disability design standards, of which 10 have integrated hoists and 5 have height adjustable toilet and sink. Our meeting rooms are equipped with an induction loop, and the kitchen is happy to accommodate any dietary requirements.
Adapted Rooms
Designated disabled-friendly parking spaces by the entrance to the reception. The outdoor spaces and communal areas are well adapted and disabled-friendly.
Parking and access
The accessible parking bays are at least 3,6 metres wide. They are clearly marked with the wheelchair symbol, paved and for the most part completely level. The access is of course barrier-free!
Communal areas
Seating and tables in close proximity to the reception desk. Large premises with ample turning radius, also in the restaurant.
Pleasant and barrier-free outdoor spaces during summer, in front of the main entrance and close to the meeting rooms.
Socket for wheelchair charging is available on demand.
Elevator
Call buttons / button panel in the elevator can be reached from a seated position.
Push button to open doors.
Mirrors on the wall opposite the doors allow wheelchair users to see when the doors open and close.
Rooms and bathrooms
Adapted rooms for different needs, with ceiling hoists and height adjustable toilet and sink. Soap dispenser and wall mounted wastepaper basket that can be reached from a wheelchair.
Folding armrests on toilet seat; toilet roll holder on armrest and wall.
A minimum of 1000 mm floor clearance on one side of the bed. Ceiling track rail with hoist from bed to bathroom, plus mobile hoist and portable shower chair.
The staff will be happy to assist and help you choose the best room for you and your family.
Note! Remember to book the ceiling hoist (and shower chair, if needed) at the same time as the room.

Whether you visit as a private party or a group (association, organisation, company), please let us know of any allergies and other special needs in due time before the arrival date. This ensures that we will be able to give you the best possible service. The breakfast buffet has a dedicated allergy-free section, and allergy friendly meals can be prepared on demand. We have several allergy friendly meeting rooms.
Meeting rooms
All the meeting rooms are fitted with vinyl flooring (no carpets). No fragrant plants or flowers.
Allergy friendly rooms
Non-smoking rooms (never smoked in) with windows that open. Most rooms are situated so as not be disturbed by any pets that others may bring. We have 6 rooms in a separate wing where pets are welcome. Pets are not allowed in the communal areas. The rooms have vinyl flooring and no carpets (rugs) or scatter cushions. The duvets and pillows are synthetic. We only use approved detergents.
Restaurant/bar
The breakfast buffet has a dedicated allergy-free section. Allergy adapted food can be prepared on demand (let us know in due time). The table candles are battery operated, and every allergen is properly labelled.
The restaurant is fully licensed.
